This article provides step-by-step instructions for re-adding your Kaltura videos from 'courses.kpu.ca' to 'courses.moodle.kpu.ca'.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Go to courses.kpu.ca and create a backup of your course.
  2. Go to your new Moodle environment (courses.moodle.kpu.ca, trades.moodle.kpu.ca, or continue.moodle.kpu.ca) and restore the backup to your new course shell.
  3. Once restored, you will notice that your Kaltura media links are broken. Giving you an "Access Denied" error message.Access Denied error message
  4. You may want to have your course on 'courses.kpu.ca' open in one window and cross-check existing media on 'courses.kpu.ca' with broken links to media on '*.moodle.kpu.ca' in another window.
  5. All your videos that were uploaded prior to August 1st should be in My Media on courses.moodle.kpu.ca. (If there are any videos missing, please report to the IT/TL Service Portal). You should then be able to find and replace your videos in your My Media from one of three ways:
    1. Add video as video resource
    2. Embed video using atto editor
    3. Add video to the course media gallery
  6. Our recommendation is to re-link your media in sections as you need them (e.g. Week 1 and 2 first) Then proceed to re-link your media as you require them.

For any assistance, please contact us through the IT/TL service portal and we will do our best to assist you.

For those who prefers a 5mins video walk-through:

*(The video mentions courses.moodle.kpu.ca but the process to find/replace will be the same for trades.moodle.kpu.ca and continue.moodle.kpu.ca).
