Aside from scheduling a Zoom meeting, you can also start an instant Zoom meeting and can manually invite people to join through the invite link. There are two ways to do this:


On your Zoom desktop app:

  1. Click Home tab >> select the New Meeting button. You can click on the down arrow to toggle the video camera option.

  2. On the Zoom meeting main screen, click Copy Link to copy the meeting invite link.


  3. To invite: You can email the link using Outlook/webmail, upload it to Moodle as URL (for students), or send it to employees through Teams messaging.


Using Zoom web portal:

  1. Once signed in to the Zoom web portal, click Host a meeting on the top-right corner and choose the required option to initiate the meeting: With video on/off or screen share only (you can change it later on in the meeting).
  2. It might open the meeting in the Zoom Client app or prompt you to open one (assuming you have it installed). If you don't want to open the meeting in the Zoom app, you can choose the option Join from your web browser instead.
  3. If you opened a meeting in your web browser, click the info icon, copy the invite link and send it to participants (as mentioned above in step 3).
