This article provides instructions on how to access your BigBlueButton recordings in Kaltura.

Note: This is only applicable to those who were using BBB to record prior to Mon, March 23, 2020.

KPU has strict obligations under FIPPA relative to the collection, use, access, disclosure, storage, retention and disposal of personal information.  When a session is recorded in a video-conferencing platform, it creates a “record” that is subject to the privacy, access to information, and records retention provisions of FIPPA.

KPU’s Privacy Committee has developed guidelines on Acceptable Use and Best Practices for Video-Conferencing for Teaching and Learning

Access Kaltura

First, you would need to login to main Moodle site (courses.kpu.ca). Then follow the instructions here.

Search My Media

Next search in the search field "bbb2kaltura" (without the quotations). Then press enter. All your recordings requested will show up in the list below.

Review your recordings

Your recordings may be split into sections and there may be different recordings for different sections of the same course. Please feel free to rename the video so that you can easily identify each one. (Repeat for other video recordings you have in My Media.)

Share your video(s)

Now you can share your videos with your students. There are a couple ways to do this, and really it boils down to preference. Follow instructions for each one below.

  1. Embed a video
  2. Add a Kaltura video resource
  3. Add to Course media gallery (you may need to tell your students you've put videos there)

That's it! You're done.

Let your students know that you've share the video resource with them. Videos in Kaltura are viewable on all modern devices (i.e. computer, laptops, smartphones, etc.)
