In cases where awarding a micro-credential based on the completion of a set of activities doesn't make sense, you are also able to award students directly. This article is intended to provide instructions for manually awarding micro-credentials directly to your students through your Moodle course.
Awarding a Badge
- From the main page of your course, click the "More" button in the banner at top of the page, then click "Open Badges" from the drop-down list.
- You'll now see a list of all currently active micro-credentials and badges at KPU. Click the badge that corresponds to your course.
(IMPORTANT NOTE: It is very important that you carefully select the micro-credential that corresponds to your course only. There are no restrictions on which badge can be assigned so you could award the incorrect badge by mistake. This cannot be reversed.)
- From the badge details page, click "Issue Badge" at the bottom of the page.
- Ensure the badge details are listed correctly.
- In the "Select Recipients" section, search for the users that you would like to award the micro-credential to.
- In the "Edit Email Message" section, you can customize the automated email that will be sent to the awarded student once they receive their micro-credential
- Once all of the details are finalized, click "Issue Badge" at the bottom of the page.
- The students that have been awarded the micro-credential will then be sent an email confirmation to notify them that it has been awarded.
