While regular e-classrooms provide the ability to connect to the wireless projector and share content with your students, the technology enhanced e-classrooms are designed to provide more flexibility and inclusivity in the learning environment. These classrooms have both classroom capture and classroom streaming equipment that allow faculty support on and off-campus learning.  

 

Regular digital e-classrooms vs. Technology Enhanced e-classrooms 

See below the list of technologies available in technology enhanced e-classrooms as opposed to regular e-classrooms. 

  

Digital e-Classroom (e-Classroom) 

These classrooms provide a basic standard and ability to connect both wired/wirelessly to the classroom projector to display presentation.

Technology Enhanced e-Classroom (e-Classroom Tech Enhanced) 

These classrooms provide everything a digital e-classroom would, plus the ability to record classroom presentations and the ability to livestream to both students online and in the classroom. These classrooms are also more accessible in nature with moveable furniture and sound acoustics.

How to Request a Technology Enhanced e-Classrooms  

Academic departments may request rooms through their Chair or Dean’s Office responsible for submitting the timetable to the Office of the Registrar.  

 

In the Sharepoint timetable worksheet, you may select the Room Type from the drop-down list of options. 

  • Technology Enhanced e-Classroom = eClassroom - Tech Enhanced 
  • Digital e-Classroom = eClassroom 

 

 

To ensure maximum usage of this technology please request the Technology Enhanced e-Classroom for individual class dates (i.e. presentations/guest speakers etc.) where possible if usage is not required for the full duration of the term. There were previous instructions on how to add lines to request individual dates, this should be added here. 


Departments which request a Technology Enhanced e-Classroom prior to the timetable submission deadline of each term, will be given first priority. Subsequent requests during Round 3 rooming will be scheduled if the room is available during your requested class times.


Conflicts which occur for Technology Enhanced e-Classrooms which are allocated in a Faculty region, will be referred to the Dean’s Office to resolve.

After the timetable submission deadline, departments are encouraged to review the availability of their desired Technology Enhanced e-Classroom in Ad Astra before requesting timetable/room changes.
