1. What is a single-discussion forum?


A single-simple discussion forum is a forum with one thread that students can respond to. Whether you would like students to discuss about a specific topic in one thread or discuss respond to a question. This forum type can be very effective.



2. Creating a Moodle Forum.


You will first want to turn editing on by clicking green button



You will know that editing is on because the button changes to a red colour.



With editing on, go to the section of your course that you would like to add the activity and click Add an activity or resource


 

From the activity picker select the Forum activity



3. Changing to a Single-Use Discussion Forum


A new page will appear where you can adjust the settings to the way that you would like them.

To change your forum type to single-discussion under the general category, find the Forum Type setting. From the drop-down menu, select A single simple discussion



After changing the settings, scroll to the bottom and save the activity.
