This article provides step-by-step instructions on how media owners can enable the downloads of a media entry and how other viewers may download a media entry resource on media.kpu.ca.
This allows videos/media to be downloaded as a .mp4 file by anyone (including non-KPU users) who have access to the video/media. This is particularly useful for those who wants to share the ability for others to download a copy of the video.
For media owners (Enable the download option):
1. Login to media.kpu.ca, click on My Media and select the video that you want others to download.
2. Click Action and select Edit.
3. Click the "Downloads" tab, check the "Download source" checkbox, and click "Save." This enables the viewers to download the media entry.
4. Share the video link with others to allow them to download the media entry.
For Viewers (Downloading the video):
1. Go to the video/media that the owner had shared with you.
2. Click on the "Download" tab and click the download button to download the video as a .mp4 file. Note: if you do not see the "Download" tab, the owner has not enabled the downloading of a media entry.
