YouTube entries that are added through Kaltura does not carry over captions that were added via YouTube. Captions that are added via YouTube will need to be manually added by uploading SRT file to the Kaltura entry.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Download the YouTube captions using a caption download site (i.e. https://www.downloadyoutubesubtitles.com/)
- Go to the Kaltura video entry edit page by clicking on Actions > Edit
- Add the captions by clicking on the Captions tab > Upload captions file
- Click on Browse and select the downloaded caption file. Select the Language the video is in. Label is the text that will be displayed in the player. Once done, click Save.
