Groups and Groupings can be used for various activities in Moodle and can be a helpful tool to organize students into various groups and groupings depending on the activity.


Step By Step Written Instructions


Creating Groups


2. From the red navigation menu at the top of your course, click the Participants page.



3. From the Enrolled users drop-down menu, select Groups.



4. Press the Create group from the bottom of the page.




5. Type in the name of the group and click on Save Changes.




6. From the windows pane, click on the group which you want to add students to click on Add/remove users button.



7. Choose the student you want to add to the group and press the Add button.



Creating a Grouping


Follow steps 1 - 3 from above


1. From the groups page, click the drop-down menu and select Grouping.



2. At the bottom of the page, click Create grouping.




4. Under General, add a Grouping name.



5. Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.



6. From the Groupings page, under Edit, click on the Group icon.



6. On the right side, select the groups that you would like to add to the grouping and click Add.
