In Teams Task Planner, you don't have to recreate the same tasks within the same plan or across the plans. This guide will provide the instruction on how to move planner tasks to another Teams Channel. 


  1. Go to the Tasks tab that you want to copy and move to another channel. Then click the Website icon. It will open a new window.  
  2. Click the Three dots (...) at the top of the screen, then select Copy plan.

  3. Enter the name of the planner, and choose the channel that you are moving the planner to then click Copy plan. Also, choose which data you are going to copy over. 

  4. You will get a notification that the task was copied. You can now go to a new channel on Teams.

  5. Click on the plus icon, then select Tasks by planner

  6.  Choose 'Use an existing plan from this team', then choose the copied plan name and click Save. And you are done.
