The teleprompter and the iPad provides a natural way to read a script in front of the camera without looking like you are reading from it. You will need your script in a Word document on a USB flash drive to get started.

  1. The teleprompter is attached to the camera on the tripod. It is used in combination with the iPad "Teleprompter" app in the studio.

Unlock the iPad and open up the Teleprompter app. Open the Teleprompter app

  2. Insert your USB Flash Drive into the dongle attached to the iPad. You will want to have your script in a Word document on your USB flash drive.Insert USB drive into dongle
NOTE: It is important that the power cable is attached to the dongle and the dongle is attached to the iPad.

  3. Tap on Add Script and then Import Document.

  5. Select your USB Flash DriveSelect USB flash drive

  6. Then open up your script Word document.
The document will automatically import its text into the teleprompter app.
    Select script to import
  7. You will notice when you open up your imported script that the orientation maybe disoriented. This is perfectly fine, as the teleprompter acts as a mirrored device when you put the iPad onto the teleprompter.

  8. Place the iPad onto the teleprompter.
It may be disoriented, if that is the case see Step 9.place iPad onto teleprompter
  9. If your text is not showing up the right way on the teleprompter, you want to tap on the gear icon. Then select one of the mirroring options until your text displays the correct way.
    Select mirroring options
  10. Underneath the table is the foot pedal which you will be able to control start/stop of the scrolling transcript. Simply tap on the right button to wake up the foot pedal.

If you tap and hold on the foot pedal, it will slowly scroll through the transcript. Step on pedal to start/stop scrolling
  11. On the bottom right of the iPad, you will see the a tortoise and rabbit icon with a slider. Simply, slide towards the tortoise to slow down the scrolling and towards the rabbit to fasten the scrolling.
