All KPU faculty and instructional staff can get FREE access to Camtasia software, a desktop video recording and editing tool.

What can Camtasia be used for?

Camtasia is most commonly used for creating user tutorials, recording your computer screen (screen casts), "explainer" videos, and PowerPoint presentations.

It is mainly used to create a stronger physical and social presence with recording the instructor's webcam and presentation at the same time.

With the built-in editor, it allows you to piece together or take out pieces of video from other sources, add in audio tracks and motion animation to increase engagement.

How to install Camtasia?

Camtasia can only be installed on a KPU issued device and cannot be installed via Citrix. Camtasia should be automatically pushed to your KPU issued device by IT including any updates. (You must be connected to KPU's intranet to get updates.)

If you do not have a KPU issued device, you are always welcomed to visit the Teaching & Learning Commons recording studio or we can provide a loaner device. Please make a request to the AV Department.

Assistance with using Camtasia

We understand that professional editing may not your forte and don't expect you to be. Camtasia have curated an excellent knowledge base and tutorials for creating and editing media.

If those aren't enough, please contact the T&L/IT Service Portal and request for more assistance.
