If the gradebook is not visible to students, it could be set to not show to students in course settings. Follow these instructions to make it available again.
1. From the red course navigation menu click Settings.
2. Under Appearance, set Show gradebook to students to Yes.
3. Scroll to the bottom and click Save and display.
