Course restorations allow a user to copy content from one course to another using course backups


*Note* If you are restoring a course with a different format, make sure that your course is set to the right format. Please click here to learn how to change formats.


Step by Step Written Instructions


1. Open the main course page where you want to have the backup restored. Click the Gear icon and choose Restore.



2. From the next page, select Restore from the drop-down menu.



3. From the User Private Backup Area, find the course that you would like to restore and click Restore on the right.

 

4. From the next page, scroll to the bottom and click continue to confirm the restore.


4. Under Restore into this course, choose the desired restore option and Continue

1st option: "Merge the backup..." will keep any existing content in the course and add the new content from the backup file.

2nd option: "Delete the contents..." would remove any existing material in this course (not participants) and then restore content from the backup.

  

5. On the Restore Settings page, leave the default options checked and click Next.

 

6. On the Course Settings page, select the activities that you would like to restore by clicking the check boxes on the left side of each activity.

 

7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Next.



8. On the final review page, click Perform Restore.


9. Once successfully restored click Continue.
