This guide will provide instructions on how to set up office hours in Moodle using Zoom meeting to create a recurring sessions. In this process, when students join the meeting, they will first be placed in the Waiting Room.
You can view who is waiting in the Participants panel and either admit students one by one for private discussions or admit everyone together when you’re ready for a group session.
1. Start by logging into Moodle, go to the course where you want to create the Zoom session, and select Zoom Meeting from the Activities and Resources list.
2. In the next window for zoom, provide a title for your sessions such as“Office Hours.”
3. Scroll down to the scheduling section and follow these steps:
- Set the start date and duration for the meeting.
- Check the box for Recurring meeting so the same link can be used each week.
- Select the day for Occurs On (for example, Tuesday ) and enter an end date.
4. Under Security, enable Waiting Room and leave the box unchecked for Allow participants to join anytime.
5. Scroll down and in the Media section, adjust the video and audio settings for both the host and participants.
6. Once all changes are made, scroll to the bottom and click Save to finalize the recurring meeting .
