There are multiple ways to add a document or files to your WordPress site using the new Gutenberg editor or the Classic editor. Either way will achieve the same goal.
Using the Gutenberg editor
- Go to Blog Posts or Pages and click on Add New.
- Click on the Add Block menu, search for File. Then click on File.
- From your computer, simply drag and drop the file to the upload area. (Upto 15MB per file)
- Once you are done, click on Save draft or Publish.
Uploading File through Dashboard
- Go to your Dashboard, click on new and select Media.
- Now drag and drop the file into the box.
- Once uploaded it will be available in your Media library.
- Go to your Blog posts or Pages and add new File block.
5. Click on Media Library and select the file from your library store.
6. Once you are done, click on Save draft or Publish.
Using the Classic editor
The other way to upload a file is through the Classic editor.
- Go to Blog Posts or Pages -> Add New.
- Click on the Add Block menu, search for Classic block. Then click on Classic Block.
- Click on the Add media button.
- Simply drag and drop a file in the upload area. (Up to 15MB per file). Then click Insert into page.
- Once you are done, click on Save draft or Publish.
