This guide will provide instructions about how track attendance in Moodle.


Creating the Module


1. From the top right corner of your course, enable Edit mode.


2. Click Add an activity or resource in the week you would like to place the module.




3. Select the Attendance from the activity or resource picker.



4. Under the General, provide a Name.



5. If you would like your attendance to be worth marks, enable under the Grades heading.



6. When finished, scroll to the bottom and click Save and display.




Creating Class Sessions


1. To start creating sessions, click the Add session button at the top left corner of the attendance page.



2. Under Add session, you can adjust the Date and Time settings. 




3. To add multiple sessions, check off Repeat the session above as follows. configure all that apply.



4. If you would like students to record their own attendance, check the box off in the Student recording section. 



5. Click Add at the bottom of the page.




Taking Attendance


1. To start, click the triangle icon below the Actions section to take attendance for that session.



2. From the next page, mark attendance by P (present), L (Late), E (Excused) or A (Absent). You can also leave Remarks on the right side.



3. When complete, click Save and show next page.
